Circuit Away Day 2006
The Circuit got off to an exciting start to its process of thinking about
the direction and priorities that it should take at a special away day at
Bawtry Hall.
Communication skills were tested by the representatives from nearly every
church in the Circuit, by seeing which team could build the tallest tower
from newspaper and gaffa tape. Some like the tower of Babel did indeed fall,
but not for lack of coming together and working hard.
Using a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis the
Circuit group spent the day exploring what is happening in the Circuit at
present to help the Churches in their mission and considered what should be
priorities in the future. All this was done with the framework of the
Methodist Churches 'Our Calling' statement and the recent 'Priorities for the Methodist Church'.
The lovely setting of Bawtry Hall, combined with our worship and prayer,
resulted in an inspiring and encouraging day, the ideas of which can be seen
in the down loadable PowerPoint slide show. Please use this (or print out and
share in the Churches. Many are already suggesting this work be continued.
